WAYNE, N.J. (DECEMBER 12, 2006) – The William Paterson men's basketball team will take on the Seton Hall Pirates Friday, Dec. 15. The game will tip off at 7:30 p.m. at SHU's Walsh Gym.
A limited number of $6.00 tickets are available through the William Paterson Athletic Department, and may be purchased Wednesday-Friday, Dec. 13-15, at the department's office in the Ben Shahn Building from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis (cash only). Tickets may also be purchased at Walsh Gym for $15.00.
The Pioneers are 7-1 overall and 2-0 in New Jersey Athletic Conference action prior to a Dec. 13 contest at FDU-Florham, and are ranked 11 th in this week's d3hoops.com Top 25 National Poll. William Paterson posted a 23-8 overall record and a 13-5 mark in NJAC play last season, winning the NJAC Tournament and advancing to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Championship.
Jose Rebimbas, named the 2006 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Atlantic Region Coach of the Year, is in his 12 th season as the Pioneers' head coach. A 1990 graduate of Seton Hall, he played on the Pirates' 1989 team that advanced to the national championship game of the NCAA Tournament.
The Pirates are 6-1 this season, most recently defeating Penn State 69-59 Dec. 9. Seton Hall is riding a five-game winning streak, suffering its only loss Nov. 18, a 76-71 defeat at the hands of Fairleigh Dickinson.
The William Paterson-Seton Hall contest will count as an exhibition game for the Pirates, and a regular-season contest for the Pioneers.
