WPU to Finish Season at No. 16 Rowan Nov. 10

The William Paterson football team (1-8, 1-5 NJAC) will look to repeat its dramatic victory of a year ago against the Profs when the Pioneers finish the 2006 season at No. 16 Rowan (6-2, 5-1 NJAC) Friday, Nov. 10. Kickoff at John Page Field (5,000) is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

SCOUTING WILLIAM PATERSON

The Pioneers are 1-8 overall and 1-5 in NJAC play following a 44-9 loss to Montclair State (6-3, 4-2 NJAC) Nov. 4. William Paterson has faced a daunting schedule, taking on four teams that advanced to the 2005 NCAA Championship, and five of its eight losses have come by seven or fewer points.

Freshman Bryan Petite (Center Reach, N.Y./Newfield) has completed 49 of 99 passes for 646 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in his four appearances under center. Sophomore Mike Vicci (Clark, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) has caught a team-best 38 balls for 200 yards, adding 257 yards on 91 carries, while freshman Kieron Gardiner (Bloomfield, N.J./Bloomfield) has rushed 56 times for 193 yards. Junior Kareen Moon (Staten Island, N.Y./Susan B. Wagner) has hauled in 33 passes for a team-high 556 yards.

Sophomore Harold Green (Boonton, N.J./Boonton) leads the Pioneers with 67 tackles (46 solo), and has added five interceptions, 11 passes broken up, one blocked kick, one fumble recovery, three sacks and eight tackles-for-loss. Senior Todd Gorski (Howell, N.J./Freehold Twp.) has 65 tackles (42 solo). Senior Kyle Harkins (Milltown, N.J./Spotswood) is third for the Pioneers with 56 tackles (32 solo), including nine for a loss, senior All-American Shadee Davis (New Brunswick, N.J./New Brunswick) has added 52 tackles (34 solo), including nine for a loss, and senior Dan Casasnovas (Belleville, N.J./Passaic Valley) has 41 tackles (29 solo), one fumble recovery, four interceptions and three blocked kicks.

Junior Ricky Krautman (Wyckoff, N.J./Ramapo) is averaging 36.6 yards per punt, and is 7-of-12 on field-goal attempts and 17-for-18 on extra-point attempts.

SCOUTING ROWAN
The Profs are 6-2 overall and 5-1 in NJAC play following a 14-7 overtime victory against No. 5 Cortland State Nov. 4. Rowan is ranked 16th in this week's American Football Coaches Association Top 25 Poll (Nov. 7).

Mike Orihel leads the Rowan offense, completing 97 of 180 passes for 994 yards, seven touchdowns and eight interceptions. Davon Edwards has carried 86 times for 371 yards, while Jim Migliore has caught 20 passes for 353 yards.

Chris Pinto has a team-best 62 tackles (34 solo). Zach Garren has added 48 stops, and Kelvin Bellamy has 44 tackles.
