NEW YORK, N.Y. (NOVEMBER 29, 2006) - Junior Joey Spiegel's (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) 20 points helped lead the No. 16 William Paterson men's basketball team (5-1) to a 77-45 win at John Jay (1-6) Nov. 29.

The Pioneers shot a blistering 61.5 (16-26) percent from the floor in the first half, racing out to a 36-23 halftime lead. Overall, William Paterson shot 55.2 (32-58) percent from the field, outscoring the Bloodhounds 47-18 in the paint.

Spiegel made eight of nine shots for his 20 points, adding four assists. Senior John Rother (Sodus Point, N.Y./Sodus Central) had 19 tallies on an 8-for-8 effort from the field.

The Pioneers were ranked 16th in this week's d3hoops.com Top 25 Poll.

William Paterson will begin New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) play Wednesday, Dec. 6, at home against Montclair State at 6:00 p.m.
