BRONX, N.Y. (NOVEMBER 27, 2006) – Senior all-American
Luis Martinez (Passaic, N.J./Clifton) scored 16 points to lead the No. 7 William Paterson men's basketball team (4-1) to a 63-43 triumph at Lehman (1-2) Nov. 27.
Martinez's 16 tallies led four Pioneers in double figures. Juniors
Joey Spiegel (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) and
Da-Shawn Dwight (Newark, N.J./Bloomfield Tech) each added 11, while senior
John Rother (Sodus Point, N.Y./Sodus Central) had 10 points on a perfect effort from the floor (4-4 FG, 2-2 FT).
Martinez also registered his third double-double of the season with a game-high 11 rebounds, and added four steals. Junior
Jason Cameron (Cliffside Park, N.J./Cliffside Park) led the Pioneers with four assists.
William Paterson ended the first half with a 13-5 run to take a 38-24 lead into the locker room, shooting 48.0 (12-25) percent from the field during the first stanza.
