Pioneers Cruise Past Centenary

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (OCTOBER 5, 2006) – The William Paterson volleyball team (6-12) cruised past host Centenary (2-17) 30-24, 30-12 and 30-11 Oct. 5 in Hackettstown.

Junior outside hitters Michelle Banom (North Arlington, N.J./North Arlington) and Tamara Miller (Maplewood, N.J./Columbia) led WPU with nine kills each. Junior setter Dana Hansen (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) distributed 18 assists, while freshman opposite Samantha Reed (Dumont, N.J./Dumont) collected a team-high eight digs.

“Tonight was good for us because we were able to play a lot of the people on our roster,” said 28th-year WPU head coach Sandy Ferrarella. “They came in and did a really nice job. We had a nice blend of the younger and older players together on the court tonight.”
