WAYNE, N.J. – Sophomore women’s diver Ashley Lawler was named the Feb. 19 William Paterson Pioneer of the Week.
 
Lawler notched a new Pioneer record in the one-meter (11 dives) event during the first day of competition at the Metropolitan Championships Feb. 16. She set the new school record with 388.95 points, eclipsing Hannah Hillebrand's 344.45-point performance during the 2016 Metropolitan Championships. The Linwood, N.J., native placed sixth in the finals for WP.
 
On the final day at Mets Feb. 18, Lawler took fifth place in the three-meter (11 dives) event with 341.25 points.
