WAYNE, N.J. – Senior men’s swimmer Sammuel Melendez (West Haverstraw, N.Y./North Rockland) was named the Jan. 15 William Paterson Pioneer of the Week.
 
Melendez provided a strong performance during a 108-98 Senior Day victory against Lehman Jan. 13, claiming two individual victories for WP by touching first in the 200 free (1:53.76) and 100 fly (54.84). He also was the third leg during the Pioneers’ winning performance in the 200 free relay (1:35.91)
