WAYNE, N.J. – Junior women's swimmer Casey Murphy (Hardyston, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) was named the Jan. 22 William Paterson Pioneer of the Week.
Murphy touched the wall first in four individual events last week. She won the distance events, securing the 500 (6:02.37) and 1,650 (21:01.59) frees during a 90-67 triumph Jan. 16 against SUNY Cobleskill, and helped WP post a victory in the 200 free relay (1:53.66).
She finished the week by besting the field in the 500 (6:03.43) and 1,000 (12:46.27) frees and contributing to a 200 free relay win (1:51.19) as the Pioneers won at Bard, 96-49, Jan. 20.
