Football junior linebacker Mike Lamego (North Arlington, N.J./Queen of Peace) was named William Paterson’s Male Pioneer of the Week for Oct. 22.

Lamego led the Pioneer defense with 11 total tackles (four solo) in a 17-14 victory at Buffalo State Oct. 20. Many of the junior linebacker’s big plays came during the fourth quarter, when he registered 2.0 total stops to keep the Bengals out of the end zone during four plays inside the WP six-yard line, and his interception and 49-yard return helped thwart another Buff State drive with the Pioneers holding the three-point lead late in the contest.
