Women’s basketball freshman forward Christina Longo (Middletown, N.J./Middletown South) was named William Paterson’s Pioneer of the Week for Dec. 10.

Longo was a key contributor in a pair of Pioneer victories last week, averaging 13.5 points and 2.0 rebounds per game while shooting 64.4 (9-14) percent from the field and 71.4 (5-7) percent from three-point range. She scored a team-high 17 points in 17 minutes off the bench in an 83-74 win against FDU-Florham Dec. 5, making seven of nine (.778) field goals and three of four (.750) three-point attempts. Longo also posted 10 points in an 82-79 upset win at No. 7/5 Kean Dec. 8, playing 24 crucial minutes for the Pioneers, as several of the starters were in foul trouble (two foul outs, another with four fouls).
