WAYNE, N.J. – Softball senior pitcher Kelsey Hand (Mountainville, N.Y./Cornwall Central) was named the William Paterson Pioneer of the Week for April 29.

Hand went 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA in two starts last week.  She scattered six hits, striking out two and allowing one unearned run during a 4-1 upset of No. 1 Montclair State April 23, going 1-for-3 at the plate with a double.  Hand then tossed a complete game during a 7-3 win against The College of New Jersey April 27.

Fifth-seeded William Paterson (19-19, 10-8 NJAC) will play at second-seeded and top-ranked Montclair State (37-3, 15-3 NJAC) in the opening round of the double-elimination NJAC Tournament Tuesday, April 30, at 4:00 p.m.
