WAYNE, N.J. – Football senior wide receiver Joe Muraglia, Jr. (Belleville, N.J./Queen of Peace) was named the William Paterson Pioneer of the Week for Oct. 31.
Muraglia helped the Pioneers secure a 17-15 victory against Morrisville State during a snowstorm Oct. 29. He caught a pass for six yards on a day when the two teams combined to go 2-for-5 through the air. Muraglia took a large percentage of snaps as the Pioneers’ quarterback due to an injury suffered the previous week by the starter, completing a 16-yard pass on fourth-and-eight to help set up the winning score. As the holder for the placekicker, he got down three snaps on the snow-covered turf, including a high snap for the 23-yard field goal that was the game winner with 4:09 left.
