WAYNE, N.J. – Softball junior pitcher/first baseman Jenna Vitale (Kenilworth, N.J./David Brearley) was named the William Paterson Pioneer of the Week March 15.

Vitale hit .545 (6-11) with two doubles, a RBI and a run scored during a 3-1 week for the No. 19 Pioneers, adding a sacrifice bunt and a sac fly for a .538 on-base percentage and a .727 slugging percentage. In a 1-0 season-opening win against Westminster March 13, she was 1-for-2 at the plate with a sac bunt and pitched the complete-game win (two hits, four strikeouts, zero walks). Vitale went 2-for-4 in a 3-2, eight-inning win against Simpson, and was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles during a 13-3 victory against McDaniel, on March 14.
