WAYNE, N.J. – Women’s basketball sophomore guard BriAnna Lucas (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) was named the William Paterson Pioneer of the Week Jan. 4.

Lucas was named the MVP of the William Paterson/Residence Inn Winter Classic after averaging 15.5 points, 2.0 assists and 2.5 steals in a pair of Pioneer victories.  She scored a game-high 20 points on 8-for-13 (.615) shooting during a 69-50 opening victory against Union Jan. 2.  Lucas added three rebounds, two assists and three steals against the Dutchwomen, and was a key part of a defensive effort that held Union scoreless for the first 10:13 of the second half.  Lucas then posted 11 points, two assists and a pair of steals during a 69-44 victory against Susquehanna in the championship game Jan. 3.
