William Paterson alum Tyler Gavin was named the Associate Director of Recreation during the fall of 2025.
Most recently, Gavin served as an Assistant Director of Campus Recreation for Intramurals and Facilities at Stevens Institute of Technology (2022-25).
A Recreation Student Building Manager at WP (2018-21), he also completed an operations internship in the Felician University Athletics Department (2021).
Gavin has served as a U.S Army Company Commander, Executive Officer and Platoon Leader of the 143D Transportation Company while stationed at Picatinny Arsenal (N.J.). from 2021-present. He also was awarded the German Armed Forces Badge and Army Achievement Medal while serving.
Gavin earned a bachelor's in sport management in 2021 and a master's in sport administration in 2025 at William Paterson, receiving the department's Distinguished Sport Administration Graduate Award.
