Michael Gilmore ’24 joined the William Paterson women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in September of 2024.
Gilmore returns to WP after spending one season as an assistant coach at Bergen Community College where he helped the Bulldogs reach their highest win total since the 2018-19 campaign.
A former captain on the WP men's basketball team in 2022-23, Gilmore started 39 of the 57 career games he played in throughout his three seasons with the program. He amassed 400 points, 270 rebounds, 80 assists and 50 steals while shooting 40 percent (153-386) from the floor.
The Teaneck, N.J., native additionally coaches at the AAU level for the Bulls Basketball Club.
Inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the national student-athlete honor society, Gilmore was a Dean's List student and graduated from WP with a bachelor’s in classical performance. He continues to be involved with music by serving as the lead pianist at his local church and teaching piano to students of all ages.
