Joshua Cole Rinck joined the William Paterson staff in 2018 as the Director of Recreational Services, and since 2021 has served as the Senior Associate Director of Athletics and Recreation.

Rinck manages the operations of the recreational facilities on campus, used for campus recreation, Athletics, club sports, intramurals, non-credit instructional programs and other University and external activities. He also supervises the recreation professional and student staff, and is responsible for budgeting, facility scheduling, and the creation and implementation of recreation, intramural and club sports programming. Among his responsibilities for intercollegiate athletics are coordinating bus travel, supervising professional staff, assisting with home contest engagement initiatives, and assisting the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation with other activities such as preseason planning, student-athlete orientation and capital projects.

Prior to WP, Rinck was the Director of Recreation and the Recreation Life Center (2016-17), Associate Director of Recreation (2013-16) and Assistant Director of Student Activities (2008-13) at Saint Peter’s University, where he also served as an adjunct professor. His responsibilities at Saint Peter’s included many of the same things he has been tasked with at WP, building a vibrant recreation and wellness program on the Jersey City campus.

The Camden Riversharks’ Stadium Operations Assistant Manager (2008) and a graduate extern in recreation and programming at Temple University (2006-08), Rinck earned a bachelor’s in psychology at Elizabethtown University in 2005 and a master’s in sport and recreation administration at Temple in 2008.
