Former Pioneer standout
Michelle Marabondo joined the William Paterson women’s soccer staff as an assistant coach for the 2013 season.
Marabondo finished her career ranked first in Pioneer history in matches played (77), second in goals scored (63), points (144) and game-winning goals (19), and tied for fifth in assists (18).
During the 2012 season, Marabondo broke the WP single-season records for points (55) and goals scored (24) while being named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Co-Offensive Player of the Year and earning spots on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-South Atlantic Region Third Team, ECAC All-Metro/Upstate Team and All-NJAC First Team.
In 2011, she was honored with first-team ECAC all-Metro Region and all-NJAC accolades after leading the Pioneers with 16 goals, 35 points and two game-winning goals. As a sophomore, she was selected to the NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region and All-NJAC First Teams, posting 13 goals, seven assists and 33 points while helping WP secure a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Marabondo started in 23 matches as a freshman, pacing the Pioneers with 10 goals and 21 points.
Marabondo earned a bachelor’s degree in history in 2012.
