Former Pioneer Matt Nigro joined the William Paterson women’s soccer staff as an assistant coach for the 2017 season. Previously, he was a 2014 undergraduate assistant coach and a 2015 assistant coach for the Pioneer men’s side.
Nigro (2010-13) was named to the 2013 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-South Atlantic Region Third Team, ECAC All-Metro Region First Team and All-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) First Team, leading the team with seven assists and 21 points while scoring seven goals for WP. The Morganville native had 10 goals and 14 assists in 81 career appearances (64 starts).
A native of Morganville, N.J., Nigro completed a bachelor’s degree in exercise science at WP in 2016, and currently plays in the American Soccer League (ASL) for ICON FC.
