64402Former Pioneer Ali Ruddy joined the William Paterson women’s soccer staff as an undergraduate assistant coach for the 2011 season and returned to the sidelines as a volunteer assistant for 2013 and 2014. Starting in the fall of 2015, Ruddy began serving as one of the program’s assistant coaches.
 
Ruddy (2007-10) became the second player in program history to earn all-America laurels when she was selected to the 2010 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Performance Subaru All-America Second Team. The 2010 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Defensive Player of the Year and a member of the D3soccer.com All-America Second Team and All-NSCAA South Atlantic Region and All-NJAC First Teams, she also was a two-time second-team all-NJAC selection (2008-09). Ruddy started all 21 matches as a senior and collected four goals and one assist as WP reached the 2010 NCAA Tournament, and she started 70 of 73 career matches while posting 12 goals and 10 assists. In the Fall of 2019, Ruddy was inducted into the William Paterson University Alumni Association Hall of Fame.
 
A native of Wayne, N.J., she completed a bachelor’s degree in marketing at WP in 2013.
