William Paterson University Athletics

A mainstay of the William Paterson coaching staff since the 1981-82 season, Steve McDonough’s diving expertise has helped the Pioneers produce several national qualifiers. Most prominent among McDonough’s charges was Steve Brown, an all-American in 1986 and the conference champion in 1983. Sheri Glenn was the Metropolitan Conference Diver of the Year in 1990, 1991 and 1993 and qualified for the NCAA Championships under his direction, and McDonough also helped former Pioneers George Taylor and Jennifer Conte reach the NCAA Championships. Most recently, Hannah Hillebrand was a qualifier for the 2016 NCAA Diving Regional.

McDonough owns a lawn care business and resides in New City, N.Y., with his three children. He earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Southern Connecticut State University in 1974.
