Alexandra Piekarz serves as William Paterson’s assistant field hockey coach after filling the role of acting head coach during the Fall 2020 semester.
During her first season on the sidelines, Piekarz helped lead the Pioneers to the NJAC Tournament title, their first crown in 44 years and their fourth overall (1973, 1975, 1977, 2020-21), following a 2-1 home victory against Ramapo in the final.
An assistant coach at Stockton University for two seasons (2018-20), Piekarz also has served as a youth coach with New Jersey’s USA Field Hockey Futures program since 2019, as well as with VIP Field Hockey since 2012.
A scholarship athlete at Division II Seton Hill University, the Wayne, N.J., native competed in 37 games in the cage for the Griffins. Piekarz completed a bachelor’s degree in history, with a minor in genocide and Holocaust studies, at Seton Hill in 2018, and she is pursuing a master’s degree in Holocaust and genocide studies at Stockton. Piekarz has interned at the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, the National Catholic Center for Holocaust Education, and the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum in Oswiecim, Poland.
