Field Hockey Drops Season Opener at Marywood

SCRANTON, Pa. – The William Paterson field hockey team (0-1) dropped its season opener at Marywood (1-1), 3-0, Sept. 5.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Pacers got on the scoreboard during the game's first minute, then found the back of the cage seven seconds before halftime for a 2-0 edge.
  • Marywood finished the scoring with a goal in the 53rd minute.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Junior Courtney DiPrenda (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) made 10 stops during her first action in goal for the Pioneers.
 
UP NEXT:
  • William Paterson will play its home opener Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 7:00 p.m., taking on FDU-Florham during its Child Cancer Awareness Game.
