WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's golf team posted its lowest team total in more than 15 years, placing fourth at its own Pioneer Fall Invitational Sept. 17.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• The Pioneers finished with a team total of 309 (+29), their best effort since restarting their NCAA program during the spring of 2011.
• Sophomore Adam Avery (Butler, N.J./Butler) and senior Rob Egan (Chester, N.Y./Saint Joseph Regional) tied for 12th place with rounds of 76 (+6). For Egan, it was a career-best effort, while Avery was one shot shy of matching his career low.
• Junior Luke Dube (Bethel, Conn./Joel Barlow) bested his previous career low with a seven-over 77 (tied-21st).
• Freshmen Brody Lenc (Oakland, N.J./Indian Hills) (80, +10, tied-34th) and Zach Soder (North Haledon, N.J./Passaic County Tech) (87, +17, tied-58th) made their collegiate debuts.
• WP also had six golfers compete as individuals, led by freshman Jack Colvin (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains-Fanwood) (84, +14, tied-45th).
• Seniors Tyler Polachek (Montville, N.J./Montville Twp.) and Liam Wozniak (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) carded career-best rounds of 89 (+19, tied-62nd).
• Freshman Nick Locke (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) and senior Michael Romanelli (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Twp.) posted rounds of 96 (+26, tied-71st), as Romanelli bested his previous career low.
• Senior Sean Nugent (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) shot a 100 (+30, 73rd).
• Drew (296, +16) took the title in the 13-team field, and Sebastian Beaver (69, -1) was the medalist after a card-off at the at the par-70, 6,322-yard Preakness Valley Golf Course-West.
• WP's previous low round was 310 (+26) against Purchase (3/28/12).
