CLERMONT, Fla. - The William Paterson softball team (3-2) dropped a 7-0 decision to Springfield College (3-2) on March 16.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Springfield opened the scoring in the first inning, plating one run to go up 1-0.

• After scoring two runs in the third and three in the fourth, the Pride added one more in the fifth to make the score 7–0.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Senior Hailey Backo (Wallington, N.J./Wallington) went 1-for-3 with a hit and a stolen base.

• Freshman Gianna Capone (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East), junior Megan Tinger (Garwood, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson), sophomore Aubrey Miller (Sewell, N.J./Gloucester County Institute of Technology), and senior Lilah Guthy (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) each went 1-for-3 with a hit.
