NEWSPORT NEWS, Va. – The William Paterson men's soccer team (1-1-1, 0-0-0 NJAC) fell 2-1 to Christopher Newport (1-0-2, 0-0-0 C2C) in a non-conference road match Sept 6.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Captains took a 2-0 lead in the first half, scoring in the 26th and 41st minutes.  
• WP cut the deficit to one (2-1) in the 65th minute after senior Delvin Nketia (New Brunswick, N.J./Montclair) scored with his back to goal, finishing a well-placed feed from junior Niko Pierce (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) and sophomore Patrick Kudron (Chester, N.J./Mendham).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Nketia recorded his second goal of the season.
• Kudron logged his second career assist.
• Pierce had his first assist of the year.
