Women’s Swimming and Diving Secures Home Win Against John Jay

WAYNE, N.J. - The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (7-2) secured its seventh win of the season with a dominant 125-64 home victory over John Jay (2-4) on Dec. 9.
TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Senior Sarah Gomez (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) posted first-place finishes in the 100 IM (1:05.67) and 100 free (57.88).
  • Freshman Adaya Bourne (Saunders, Sint Maarten/Milton Peters College) was victorious in the 50 free (25.77).
  • Sophomore Sarah Churchill (Washington Twp., N.J./Westwood) touched the wall first in the 1000 free (12:45.45).
  • Sophomore Dalisha Romero (Perth Amboy, N.J./Perth Amboy) placed first in the 50 fly (30.62).
  • Sophomore Katelyn Antonoff (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) secured victory in the 200 free (2:05.95).
  • Sophomore Skylar Coleman (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) finished first in the 50 back (32.66).
  • WP won the 200 free relay, with efforts from Coleman, Bourne, Gomez, and Romero, finishing with a time of 2:03.10.
  • The Pioneers placed first in the 200 free relay, with efforts from Antonoff, Churchill, sophomore Savannah Morante (Scranton, Pa./Scranton H.S.), and sophomore Cassandra Ashworth (Totowa, N.J./Homeschool), finishing with a time of 1:58.89.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Antonoff shredded time off her 200 free best (2:05.95).
  • Bourne posted a personal record in the 50 free (25.77).
  • Coleman set a new personal best in the 50 back (32.66).
  • Sophomore Francis Gomes lowered her 100 fly best (1:06.59).
  • Morante recorded a personal best in the 200 free (2:40.58).
  • Romero registered a personal best in the 50 fly (30.62).
