Women's Swimming and Diving Defeats Baruch at Home

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (1-2) defeated Baruch (0-2), 126-125, in a home meet on Oct. 24.
 
TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Sophomore Katelyn Antonoff (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) led WP with first-place finishes in the 200 free (2:10.84), 500 free (5:54.41), and 1000 free (12:00.93).
  • Freshman Adaya Bourne (Saunders, Sint Maarten/Milton Peters College) finished first in the 100 breast (1:14.76) and 50 free (27.36).
  • Junior Sarah Gomez (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) posted first-place victories in the 200 breast (2:44.90) and 200 IM (2:26.62).
  • The Pioneers placed first in the 200 medley relay (2:05.16) with efforts from sophomore Skyler Coleman, Gomez, sophomore Dalisha Romero (Perth Amboy, N.J./Perth Amboy), and Bourne.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Sophomore Cassandra Ashworth (Totowa, N.J./Homeschool) recorded career-best times in the 100 fly (1:37.80) and 200 fly (3:46.68).
  • Sophomore arah Churchill (1:08.43) and Savannah Morante (Scranton, Pa./Scranton H.S.) (1:17.12) posted new personal bests in the 100 free.  
  • Sophomore Frances Gomes (Kearny, N.J./Kearny) shredded time off her 50 free best (28.47).
  • Gomez set a personal record in the 200 IM (2:26.92).
 
UP NEXT:
  • William Paterson travels to Mount Saint Mary College (N.Y.) on Saturday, Nov. 1 for a 1:00pm meet.
