KENILWORTH, N.J. – The William Paterson golf team (1-1) finished second during a tri-match Sept. 17 at Galloping Hill Golf Course. The Pioneers defeated Mount Saint Vincent (0-2), 326-388, and fell to host Kean (2-0), 300-326.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Sophomore Matt Lugo (Maywood, N.J./Hackensack) tied for third place overall during his collegiate debut with a 78 (+7).
• Senior Jake Lutz (River Vale, N.J./Pascack Valley Regional) carded an 80 (+9) to place sixth.
• Junior Nicholas Petti (Wayne, N.J./Passaic County Tech) fired an 83 (+12, eighth) during his Pioneer debut, and junior Gavin Deeken (Waldwick, N.J./Waldwick) shot 85 (+14, tied-ninth).
• Junior Lorenzo Assante (Montville, N.J./Montville Twp.) scored an 86 (+15) to finish 12th.
• Junior Luke Fournier (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) competed as an individual, shooting 97 (+26, tied-16th).
• Kean's Logan Perrone was the individual medalist with a round of 67 (-4) at the par-71 course.
