WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson softball team (5-27, 3-15 NJAC) honored seniors
Grace Gaskill (Hamilton, N.J./Steinert),
Gianna Mulato (Pompton Plains, N.J./Pequannock Twp.),
Michaela Raguseo (Woodland Park, N.J./Passaic Valley), and
Haley Weinberger (Williamstown, N.J./Hammonton) prior to an NJAC doubleheader versus TCNJ (25-9, 12-6) on April 27 at Pioneer Softball Field. The Pioneers ended the 2024 campaign, falling 9-0 in five innings and 6-3 in game two.

GAME ONE
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Lions grabbed a 1-0 advantage in the first.
- A combined seven runs in the second and third extended TCNJ's lead to 8-0.
- Two hits in the fifth scored one more for TCNJ (9-0).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Gaskill hit 1-for-2.
- Sophomore Lilah Guthy (East Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) (2-13) started inside the circle, pitching 2.2 innings with one strikeout.
- Guthy recorded her 26th appearance this season, placing her 10th on the WP single-season pitching records chart.
- Junior Lindsey Acker (Wenonah, N.J./Deptford) relieved the last 2.1 innings, allowing four hits and one run.
GAME TWO
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After three innings the Lions led 3-0.
- Two errors and a sacrifice fly in the fifth extended TCNJ's lead 5-0. The Lions added another run in the sixth (6-0).
- In the sixth, Weinberger reached first on a fielding error and advanced to second on a walk by Mulato. Graduate student Caitlin Monahan (Bloomingdale, N.J./Butler) hit one to shortstop, resulting in a throwing error and Weinberger crossing home plate (6-1). Junior Courtney Schwark (Port Ewen, N.Y./Kingston) pinch ran for Monahan. Graduate student Jillian Bigos (Red Bank, N.J./Middletown South) followed with a triple down the left-field line, scoring Mulato and Schwark (6-3).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Bigos finished 2-for-3 with two RBI and a triple. She recorded her 11th triple of her career, placing her ninth on the WP career triples list.
- Freshman Samantha Campos (River Edge, N.J./River Dell) went 1-for-1 with a stolen base.
- Guthy secured a hit.
- Weinberger, Mulato, and Schwark crossed the plate for the Pioneers.
- Sophomore Kylie Anthony (Methuen, Mass./Methuen) (1-3) pitched five innings, recording one strikeout while allowing six hits.
- Mulato relieved for the last two innings, striking out two.
