Women's Field Hockey Triumphs Over Ramapo with a 4-1 Victory

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's field hockey team (3-12, 1-5 NJAC) secured a 4-1 win against Ramapo (3-15, 0-6  NJAC) in their final game of the season on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Wightman Stadium.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • With five minutes left in the first half, the Pioneers took a 1–0 lead when Julia Dennehy (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) scored off a well-placed cross from Lauren Rennie (Forked River, N.J./Lacey Township).
  • Dennehy doubled the score in the 34th minute with her second goal of the game, assisted by Julia Menn (Freiburg, Germany/Rotteck Gymnasium).
  • In the 57th minute, Alexandra Stoner (Branchville, N.J./High Point) netted a goal for WP. A minute later, Stoner scored her second of the game, assisted by Dennehy and Menn, extending the Pioneers' lead to 4–0 over the Roadrunners.
  • Ramapo managed a consolation goal in the final minute, but the Pioneers secured a 4–1 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Dennehy tallied her second and third goals of the season, along with her second assist.
  • Stoner's two goals bring her season total to 4.
  • Menn contributed two assists.
  • Rennie notched her first assist of the season.
