Women's Swimming and Diving Captures Fourth Consecutive Win With 80-51 Victory Over Maritime

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (6-2) secured their fourth win in a row with an 80-51 victory over Maritime (2-2) Nov. 12 at Wightman Pool.
 
TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Freshman Sarah Churchill (Washington Twp., N.J./Westwood) claimed victory in the 1000 free (12:56.15).
  • Senior Samantha Pricken (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) touched the wall first in the 200 free (2:15.32).
  • Junior Sarah Gomez (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) posted a first-place finish in the 50 free (25.85).
  • Freshman Katelyn Antonoff (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) triumphed in the 200 IM (2:29.62).
  • Freshman Olivia Morrison (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) won the 1 meter dive, finishing with a score of 124.60.
  • WP prevailed in the 200 medley relay with efforts by freshman Nicole Ross, Morrison, freshman Dalisha Romero (Perth Amboy, N.J./Perth Amboy) and freshman Frances Gomes (Kearny, N.J./Kearny), finishing with a time of 2:18.68.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Gomez achieved a new personal best in the 50 free (25.85).
  • Churchill surpassed her previous record in the 1000 free with a time of 12:56.15.
  • Freshman Faith Diaz (Wayne, N.J./Passaic County Tech) shaved time off her 1000 free best (16.07.66)
  • Freshman Cassandra Ashworth (Totowa, N.J./Homeschool) recorded a new personal top score in the 1 meter dive (115.60).
  • Freshman Savannah Morante (Wayne, N.J./Scranton H.S.) posted a personal record in the 50 free (35.61).
