Men’s Soccer Upended at FDU-Florham, 3-2

MADISON, N.J. – The William Paterson men's soccer team (7-3-3) struck first but couldn't hold off host FDU-Florham (9-3-1), suffering a 3-2 loss Oct. 9.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Junior Jonathan Antonio (Edison, N.J./Edison) gave the Pioneers a 1-0 edge in the 26th minute, finishing a pass from freshman Davide Zamuner (Piverone, Italy/Liceo Scientifico Statale A. Gramsci) for his first goal of the season.
  • The Devils scored the equalizer less than three minutes before halftime, then tacked on goals in the 57th and 59th minutes for a 3-1 advantage.
  • Zamuner's unassisted goal made it a 3-2 score in the 68th minute.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Sophomore Ryu McKinney (Brick, N.J./Brick Township) finished with four saves for the Pioneers.
  • Zamuner notched his fifth goal of the season and his second three-point match of the year.
