Women's Soccer Battles to a 1-1 Draw Against Rutgers-Camden

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (5-6-6, 1-2-4 NJAC) played to a 1-1 draw against Rutgers-Camden (7-7-3, 2-4-1 NJAC) in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match Oct. 23 at Pioneer Soccer Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • In the 15th minute, graduate student Julia Fiorito (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) connected on a cross from senior Hailey Nelson (Elmer, N.J./A.P. Schalick) to take a 1-0 lead over the Scarlet Raptors.
  • With less than four minutes remaining in the second half, Rutgers-Camden evened the score at 1-1.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Fiorito scored her fourth goal of the season.
  • Nelson recorded her third assist of the year.
