BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team opened the 2024–25 season at the Gryphons Sprint Carnival, Oct. 19, finishing with a 2-1 record. The Pioneers defeated Purchase College (0-3), 161-31, and Brooklyn College (1-2), 128-77, and fell to Sarah Lawrence (3-0), 135-86.
TOP PERFORMERS:
- Senior Samantha Pricken (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) led the Pioneers with first-place finishes in the 50 back (29.71) , 50 free (27.71) and 100 back (1:05.95).
- Junior Sarah Gomez (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) secured a first-place finish in the 100 individual medley (1:06.87) and placed second in the 100 fly (1:10:11).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- The Pioneers finished second in the 200 free relay (1:56.50) with efforts from Pricken, freshman Dalisha Romero (Perth Amboy, N.J./Perth Amboy), freshman Olivia Morrison (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown), and Gomez.
