Women's Swimming and Diving Celebrates Senior Day with Win

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving (8-4-1) celebrated Senior Day with a 93-73 victory against Bard (3-7-1) Jan. 20 at Wightman Pool.
 
TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Senior Nicole Kahwaty (Lake Hopatcong, N.J./Morris County Tech) secured first place in the 1,000 free (13:23.16) and 500 free (6:33.86).
  • Senior Hailey Krajewski (Clifton, N.J./DePaul Catholic) touched the wall first in the 200 free (2:18.64) and 100 fly (1:08.79).
  • Graduate student Rose Vail (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) placed first in the 100 free (1:02.38).
  • Junior Samantha Pricken (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) won the 50 free (26.86) and 100 back (1:05.48).
  • Sophomore Sarah Gomez (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) finished first in the 200 IM (2:27.35).
  • The Pioneers were victorious in the 200 medley relay with efforts by Pricken, Gomez, Krajewski and Vail, finishing with a time of 2:00.68.
  • WP celebrated its seniors Melody Espin (Colonia, N.J./Colonia), Nicole Kahwaty (Lake Hopatcong, N.J./Morris County Tech), Hailey Krajewski (Clifton, N.J./DePaul Catholic), Skylar Mancini (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East), Jillian Starace (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) and Rose Vail (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney).
