Men's Soccer Secures a 3-1 Road Victory Against Keystone

LA PLUME, PA. – The William Paterson men's soccer team (3-0) secured a 3-1 non-conference victory at Keystone (0-3), Sept. 6.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Pioneers scored first with a goal by junior forward Diego Navas (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) in the 31st minute.
  • Freshman midfielder Jonathan Cardona (Linden, N.J./Linden) added a goal in the 73rd minute.
  • Keystone shortened the lead to one with a penalty kick in the 75th minute.
  • WP secured its third and final goal of the game in the 83rd minute when freshman back Chimjae Mukanda (Elizabeth, N.J./Elizabeth) found the back of the net.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Navas posted his fourth goal of the season.
  • Cardona and Mukanda earned their first collegiate goals.
  • The Pioneers out-shot the Giants, 15-5.
UP NEXT:
  • William Paterson travels to Haverford, Pa., for a 12:00 p.m. non-conference matchup against Haverford on Saturday, Sept. 9.
