Women's Swimming and Diving Defeats Moravian on the Road

BETHLEHEM, PA. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (3-2-1) secured a 76-44 road win against Moravian (0-6) on Nov. 11.
 

TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Senior Melody Espin (Colonia, N.J./Colonia) earned nine points for the Pioneers with a victory in the 1,000 free (14:53.71).
  • Senior Hailey Krajewski (Clifton, N.J./DePaul Catholic) came out on top in the 200 free (2:23.74) and 100 fly (1:07.69).
  • Sophomore Sarah Gomez (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) won the 200 IM (2:28.37).
  • Junior Samantha Pricken (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) secured first in the 100 free (1:01.14).
  • The Pioneers earned a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay with efforts by Pricken, Gomez, Krajewski and senior Jillian Starace (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East), finishing with a time of 2:05.74.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Freshman Kira Collum (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) posted a personal best in the 50 free (33.99).
  • Starace beat her personal record in the 100 breast (1:26.44).

UP NEXT:
  • William Paterson returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 14, for a 6:00 p.m. meet against Ramapo at Wightman Pool.
