Women's Soccer Edged at Home by Ramapo in Season Finale

WAYNE, N.J. – Two late second-half goals made the difference as the William Paterson women's soccer team (3-7-7, 1-5-3 NJAC) fell 2-1 to Ramapo (3-11-1, 1-7-1 NJAC) Oct. 25 at Pioneer Soccer Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • In the 15th minute, junior Brianna De La Cruz (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) sent a through ball from midfield to a cutting Julia Fiorito (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) and the senior tapped the ball past a diving Ramapo goalkeeper to give the Pioneers the early 1-0 advantage.
  • William Paterson maintained its one-goal lead until Ramapo netted the game-tying goal in the 83rd minute before scoring the game-winning goal in the 86th minute.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Fiorito tallied her sixth goal of the season.
  • De La Cruz dished out her fourth assist of the year.
