MAHWAH, N.J. – The William Paterson men's soccer team (5-12-1, 1-7-1 NJAC) was defeated, 8-2, on the road against Ramapo (5-10-2, 2-7 NJAC) in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match to close out the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Pioneers wasted no time and went ahead 1-0 in the second minute after junior Diego Navas (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) found the back of the net off an assist by graduate student Kyle Hanlon (Charleston, S.C./James Island Carter).
- The Roadrunners evened the score in the 23rd minute, but freshman Jaden Blount (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) put the Pioneers back on top with a goal in the 32nd minute.
- Ramapo scored two goals in the closing 10 minutes of the first half before adding five unanswered goals in the second stanza to secure the 8-2 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Navas netted his 13th goal of the season.
- Hanlon handed out his first assist of the year.
- Blount scored his fourth career goal.
