Women's Swimming and Diving Extend Win Streak Against Bard on the Road

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (11-5) earned a non-conference victory on the road against Bard (2-5), 90-75, extending their win streak to seven on Saturday, Jan. 21.
 
TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Junior Nicole Kahwaty (Lakke Hopatcong, N.J./Morris County Tech) had a first-place finish in the 1,000 free (13:09.40).
  • Junior Samantha Pricken (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) placed first in the 200 free (2:10.81) and 200 back (2:25.83).
  • Graduate student Carly McDaniel (Lincoln Park, N.J./Boonton) touched the wall first in the 50 free (24.88) and 100 free (54.98).
  • Freshman Sarah Gomez (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) secured first place in the 200 IM (2:24.41) and 500 free (5:58.00).
  • The Pioneers were victorious in the 200 medley relay with efforts by Pricken, junior Hailey Krajewski (Clifton, N.J./DePaul Catholic), senior Jillian Starace (Toms River/Toms River East) and McDaniel, finishing with a time of 2:01.76.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Kahwaty's victory in the 1,000 free was a personal record (13:09.40).
  • Junior Melody Espin (Colonia, N.J./Colonia) posted personal bests in the 1,000 free (14:35.19) and 500 free (6:58.71).
  • McDaniel's secured a personal record with her first-place finish in the 100 free (54.98).
  • Gomez's win in the 500 free was a personal best (5:58.00).

  • William Paterson returns to NJAC play, travelling to Mahwah, N.J. on Friday, Jan. 27 for a 6:00 p.m. meet against Ramapo.
