Men’s Soccer Loses to Rutgers-Newark, 4-0

WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson (3-5-1, 0-2 NJAC) lost 4-0 to visiting Rutgers-Newark (5-3-2, 2-0 NJAC) Sept. 28 during New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) men's soccer action.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Scarlet Raiders got on the scoreboard in the 11th minute with a header at the near post off a corner kick.
  • Rutgers-Newark made it a 2-0 margin five minutes later after finishing a second rebound in front of goal.
  • A shot from near the left corner of the box at the 64:36 mark netted the Scarlet Raiders' third goal, and the final tally came five minutes later from a ball played along the right end line that was tapped in at the middle of the frame.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Junior Maksym Bukachevsky (Edison, N.J./Edison) tallied a career-best 10 saves for the Pioneers.
