Women’s Soccer Dominates Lehman, 9-0

Eight Different Pioneers Get on Scoresheet

BRONX, N.Y. – Eight different Pioneers got on the scoresheet as the William Paterson women's soccer team (1-4-2) dominated play during a 9-0 victory at Lehman (0-3) Sept. 17.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Junior Sabrina Bishara (Port Jervis, N.Y./Port Jervis) converted a ball from classmate Elisa Zuta (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes), making it a 1-0 match 2:23 into the contest.
  • Sophomore Madelynn Spink (Bellmawr, N.J./Audubon) scored 38 seconds later off an assist from junior Julia Fiorito (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North).
  • Senior Isabel Medina (Bergenfield, N.J./Bergenfield) knocked in a Fiorito pass for her first career goal and a 3-0 edge in the 19th minute.
  • Bishara's second goal of the day, this one unassisted, pushed the lead to 4-0 at the 22:06 mark.
  • Sophomore Lauren Hutchison (South Plainfield, N.J./South Plainfield) found the back of the net for an unassisted strike, her first as a Pioneer, during the 31st minute.
  • Junior Callista Long (Washington Twp., N.J./Westwood Regional) scored her first WP goal, connecting on an Erin Clark (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) pass to make it a 6-0 WP advantage 1:22 into the second half.
  • Sophomore Abby Lonergan (Fairfield, N.J./West Essex) collected an unassisted goal at the 63:34 mark for her first tally as a Pioneer.
  • Fiorito's penalty kick made it an 8-0 score in the 78th minute.
  • Zuta posted her first WP goal and completed the day's the scoring with an unassisted strike with 5:10 remaining.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • WP owned a 40-0 edge in shots.
  • The nine goals were the most for WP since a 9-0 home victory against Medgar Evers (9/2/16).
