Women's Swimming and Diving Beats Brooklyn in Non-Conference Action

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (5-5) earned a non-conference win against Brooklyn (0-3), 95-70, at Wightman Pool on Saturday, Dec. 3.

TOP PERFORMERS:
  • The Pioneers were victorious in the 200 medley relay with efforts by juniors Samantha Pricken (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) and Hailey Krajewski (Clifton, N.J./DePaul Catholic), and seniors Jillian Starace (Toms River/Toms River East) and Emily Murphy (Stockholm, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional). They finished with a time of 2:08.76.
  • Pricken won the 200 free (2:14.37) and 100 free (1:00.17).
  • Graduate student Carly McDaniel (Lincoln Park, N.J./Boonton) secured first in the 50 free (25.74) and 100 fly (1:03.75).
  • Freshman Sarah Gomez (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) posted a win in the 100 back (1:08.58).
  • Junior Nicole Kahwaty (Lakke Hopatcong, N.J./Morris County Tech) earned a first-place finish in the 1,000 free (14:18.92).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Pricken's recorded a personal best in her 200 free victory (2:14.37).
  • Gomez posted a personal record in the 100 breast (1:17.99).

UP NEXT:
  • William Paterson returns to action on Tuesday, Dec. 6 for a 6:00 p.m. meet against Maritime.
