Women's Soccer Plays to 1-1 Draw Versus Drew

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (1-7-4) played to a 1-1 draw against Drew (6-3-2) on Oct. 5 in a non-conference tilt.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In the fifth minute, sophomore Brianna De La Cruz (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) received a pass off a corner kick and sent the ball toward the Drew goal but it was denied by a Rangers' defender. However, sophomore Madelynn Spink (Bellmawr, N.J./Audubon) got a hold of the loose ball and booted it into the back of the net to put the Pioneers up 1-0.
  • It remained a one-goal game until the Rangers scored their lone goal of the night in the 55th minute.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Spink scored her third goal of the season.
  • She has now tallied a score in back-to-back outings.
  • Freshman Sarah Mantilla (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) made three saves in goal.
