Men's Soccer Defeated by No. 10 Montclair State, 4-1

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's soccer team (4-8-2, 1-5-1 NJAC) fell 4-1 to No. 10 Montclair State (12-1-3, 7-0 NJAC) in an NJAC match on Oct. 19.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Red Hawks struck first with a goal in the 29th minute before tacking on an insurance goal in the 50th minute.
  • William Paterson trimmed the deficit to one in the 63rd minute once senior Owen Stahl (Succasunna, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) inserted the ball into the box off a free kick and junior Opeoluwa Olaloko (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) found classmate Alfredo Rojas (Clifton, N.J./Passaic County Tech) for the score.
  • Montclair State tallied its third goal of the match in the 74th minute on a penalty kick.
  • Just over a minute later, the Red Hawks logged their fourth and final goal of the night.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Rojas netted his third goal of the season.
  • Stahl recorded his second assist of the year.
  • Olaloko tallied his first assist of the season.

  • William Paterson is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 22, to take on Rowan for a 7 p.m. NJAC tilt in Glassboro, N.J.
