WAYNE, N.J. – Despite six saves from freshman goalkeeper Kourtney Hartzel (York, Pa./West York Area), the William Paterson field hockey team (0-1) could not hold off the Scranton (1-0) attack as the Pioneers fell on the road 2-0 in their season opener
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• After a scoreless first quarter, The Royals put the first goal on the board at the 18:56 minute mark as a shot from the left side of the circle found the back of the goal.
• Scranton was able to extend their lead to two goals late in the fourth quarter with a shot from the top of the circle at the 51:20 mark to seal the game for the Royals.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Hartzel's start at goal today was the first of her WP career.
