NEW YORK, N.Y. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (2-3) played a good defensive battle but could not answer two goals in the last 12 minutes of the contest, suffering a 2-0 loss at New York University (4-2) on Sept 22.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The back-and-forth defensive match continued up until the 78:47 mark as the Violets put a shot into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.
• New York would quickly extend the lead to 2-0 with a goal at the 80:03 mark to seal the game for the Violets.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Junior goalkeeper Brooke Sachau (Franklin Twp., N.J./Franklin) started her first game of the season for the Pioneers, tallying four saves.

UP NEXT:

• William Paterson will return home Saturday. Sept. 25, at 5 p.m. as the Pioneers host No. 1 TCNJ.
