Field Hockey Travels to Stockton for NJAC Tournament Semifinals

Third-Seeded Pioneers Visit Second-Seeded Ospreys

NJAC Tournament Championship Bracket

PITMAN, N.J. – The third-seeded William Paterson field hockey team (1-2, 1-2 NJAC) will begin its quest for a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament title when the Pioneers play in the semifinals Thursday, April 8 at second-seeded Stockton (1-3, 1-3 NJAC) at 7:00 p.m. 
 
WHERE:
  • Stockton Turf Field; Galloway, N.J.
 
WHAT'S ON THE LINE:
  • The winner advances to the championship game Saturday, April 10 at a time to be determined.
 
WP IN THE NJAC TOURNAMENT:
  • WP is making its sixth appearance in the NJAC Tournament (1973, 1975, 1977, 2012, 2015, 2020), and the Pioneers are seeking their fourth conference title (1973, 1975, 1977).

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS:
  • Junior Megan Hoopes (Westmont, N.J./Haddon Twp.) leads the Pioneers with two goals, followed by Catie Wilson (Oaklyn, N.J./Collingswood), Kelsie Murphy (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) and Alicia Mitchell (Morris Plains, N.J./Parsippany Hills) with one apiece.
  • Junior Abigail Viola (Monroe Twp., N.J./Monroe Twp.) has notched two assists on the season, while classmate Hope Addlesberger (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) has one.
  • In goal, Emily Hoagland (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) has posted 15 saves and one shutout (3/16/21 vs Ramapo) in her first collegiate season.

SCOUTING THE OSPREYS:
  • Tori Wilson is Stockton's top goal scorers with two this spring, and Gianna Morganti has one, including the game winner over WP this season.
  • Goalie Kylie Mitchell has 39 saves on the year.
 
LAST TIME THEY MET:
  • Stockton raced out an early 4-1 lead before hanging on for a 4-3 triumph in the regular season finale April 2.
