Women’s Swimming and Diving Unable to Hold off Kean in Season Finale

Jillian Starace produced two second place finishes.

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (0-3, 0-3 NJAC) could not hold off Kean (1-0, 1-0 NJAC), dropping a 159-77 decision in their season finale on Feb. 27.

TOP PERFORMERS:

Freshman Hailey Krajewski (Clifton, N.J./DePaul Catholic) recorded two second place finishes in both the 50 free (27.86) and the 100 fly (1:08.07). Krajewski also placed third in the 200 free (2:18.81).
Sophomore Jillian Starace (Toms River/Toms River East) contributed points to the Pioneer total by placing second in the 50 fly (29.69) second in the 50 back (32.90), and fourth in the 100 fly (1:12.94).
Junior Taylor Friedman (South Amboy, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) earned a second place standing in the 100 back with a time of 1:08.14. Friedman also produced third place finishes in the 100 free (59.58) and 100 IM (1:09.21).
Sophomore Alexia Garcia (Teaneck, N.J./Immaculate Conception) touched the wall second in the 50 breast (35.61) and third in the 100 breast (1:17.56).
